For persons interested in a possible career in private security, Tombs Tactical Security LLC follows and adheres to guidelines and regulations set forth and established by The Maryland State Police. To become a security guard in Maryland, you must meet requirements set by the Maryland State Police and apply for a certificate through a licensed security guard agency.
General requirements
Additional requirements for armed security Have a valid Social Security number, have not committed any acts of fraud, and Complete additional firearms training.
Additional requirements for security guard agencies Be at least 25 years old and be of good character and reputation.
Application process
Security officers protect specific locations, items, or events. They are not members of law enforcement.

The role of the security officer is to ensure a safe and secure environment while adhering to and exhibiting our mission and core values. Duties of the security officer include but not limited to on foot patrolling/monitoring assigned areas, investigating irregularities, submitting detailed reports at the end of each shift including daily activities and arrests as well as submitting detailed incident reports and trespass notices.
